Barry, I am so excited to see you tonight on American Idol. You are and always will be wonderful!!!! Sorry I missed the park dedication for Maurice back in March on Miami Beach. I am sure it was amazing. My husband is in the area just about everyday and we would of loved to have been there. Please keep us posted on any other local events.

What an amazing job you did tonight on American Idol, Mr. Gibb! As a nearly 40-year Bee Gees fan it was sheer delight being able to see you on the show this evening! It's about time that you were invited to showcase some of the best music EVER WRITTEN in my humble opinion! :) How wonderful to have you there in person to introduce these magnificent works of art to the younger generations. You have an extensive, AMAZING catalogue of beautifully-written and seamlessly performed songs that will forever live on. You did an awesome job!! I liked Melinda's performance of "Love You Inside and Out" and "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart". I liked Lakisha's performance of "Stayin Alive" and "Run To Me".
I did not like Blakes version of "You Should Be Dancing" a little to much modernizing on it...to hip hoppie for me BUT I loved his spin on "This Is Where I Came In". But I feel you were really on the money with Jordin...She was the Wow factor with her version of "To Love Some Body" and "Women In Love". I think the judges needed to open their ears a little better. I agreed with them on Blake but the rest...well the judges need to get more educated in Bee Gees music. You have to be more open minded and hear the performers and forget who originally recorded the music which I think the judges lacked in some cases not all. Just my opinion...I am a faithful Idol watcher and all the contestants have really improved and it will be hard to choose later down the road but I see Jordin and Melinda going head to head...again just my opinion. My hat is off to you Barry....AWESOME JOB...and you look great!!!

I'm 33, so I couldn't enjoy you and your brothers in the 70's and 80's. Actually I discovered you 3 or 4 years ago when I watched a DVD live in Las Vegas (One Night Only)
You were (and still are) the greatests.
I was born in Porto Alegre, Brazil.
When I was a little child I was afraid of your pictures, 'cause you seemed so magnificent, with those ligths behind you and your bright white clothes, you looked like God or Jesus Christ !

I thought you were amazing on American Idol. It was so exciting to see you!! There have been very few who I thought could sing a Bee Gees song and most of them could not do them justice....but Jordin is one that I think did tonight. I was very impressed with the way the three women sang the songs, especially Jordin. I was not impressed with the way Blake did his two songs, most especially TIWICI. oh well, JMO. I can't wait to watch tomorrow night!

Just watched American Idol. Not nomally a fan but I watch to see my favorite Idols. I'm glad there are programs like idol out to help young talent today. I know when I was trying to get my foot in the door I basicilly got it SMASHED! (OUCH) So I hope this kind of program continues for young talent. I don't think my kids or granddaughter will be singers. In fact my boys already have careers, and my granddaughter is in ballet.
(My mom is going to die when she knows I did this) ;)

It was so wonderful to see the way you interacted with the contestants. I only wish that some of their song choices had been better, concentrated on performance rather than recognizability. On that note, I give huge props to Blake for "This Is Where..." and to Jordin for "Woman In Love". BTW, I voted for Blake 35 times...don't want to see him leave!!

Barry, you looked great last nigh on Idol. Having just seen it for the first time I wasn't sure what to expect. Your mentoring was great but sadly I feel that the majority of the contestants didn't even come close to being able to project the heart and soul of their chosen songs. Tonight I know you will show them how it is really done.

It was wonderful to see you again on Idol last night. Jordin has been my favourite for the last few weeks and she did not disappoint last night. I thought the others would have done better to stick a little closer to the originals- why change a good thing.
Can't wait for tonight's show to hear you sing, and I hope they do a group BeeGees song too. You were a wonderful mentor to the group and I hope they appreciate your help. Hoping while you're out there you'll show up on Ellen show, or any of the others in LaLa land.

Not to worry Barry, my young grandsons had their spring music program last night, all three were nervous, once program started got right into it and had time of their lives....Think you once said you are a fan of Doris Day, I've been a forever fan, wondered if you ever met her, did you know she owns a place called Cypress Inn located at Carmel By The Sea, even has a special tea time, maybe your family would enjoy the visit, looks like a great place...You are a wonderful singer & performer, HAVE FUN !!!!!

I really enjoyed the show last night. You were great. I really liked what you were telling the contestants.

Jordin was great, she has an amazing voice and I think you and Steve and Ashley should write a few songs for her to record. No matter what happens with Idol.

barry seeing u on tv was so great, u looked good,sounded good,& it was fantastic to c u in action again, keep up the good work. i loved jordin singing both songs, even if simon didnt, no one can do it like u tho as u are the greatest. cant wait for tonight. im taping it all just so i can c u over &over & my son wants to see it as he doesnt get fox channel. hes a great fan of yours also, especially after meeting u & talking to u in mia at dedication. i gave him the one night only & he plays it every day. he plays guitar & hes learning ur songs now.id rather c u in person at a performance but will settle for ai as its all i can get for now. love u & family. was so nice meeting linda too,beautiful lady. kathryn

You had nothing to be nervous about, your brief appearance, singing "To Love Somebody" showed the rest of the world what I have known for many years... like since 1967 when I first heard "New York Mining Disaser -1941" what a great voice and emotionally charged delivery you still have!

It was an awesome Idol show tonight with you singing. You are still fantastic and what an incredible time the final 4 contestants had being coached by YOU! I am going to miss LaKisha - she has nothing to feel bad about because she's done so well. (I kind of wish she tried the falsetto though!!)
I read how many musical artists including have been are trying to have the British 50 year protection increased for music/song rights and I so much agree with you on that. Seeing you on AI reminded me of how much I enjoyed your early albums back in the 1970s, so I went online, to both iTunes and Rhapsody, in search of "Cucumber Castle" but I couldn't find it anywhere.

What gives? I believe strongly that artists should be paid for their work, so I don't download music from peer to peer sites. But, artists need to uphold their end of the bargain as well, by making sure that their music is available for legal download.

I enjoyed watching you on American Idol tonight (5/9/07). The audience seemed to be having a BLAST and so did you! Actually, I didn't know that you would be performing, but only coaching! What a pleasant surprise!! You looked and sounded awesome! I'd also like to add that I like how you always sing with emotion. Oftentimes, singers over-sing their songs and go up and down all over the place, and the song gets lost, but not you! Somehow, you know precisely when and where in the song to go into and out of falsetto or up and down, which in my opinion, makes your songs such big hits! You also have a wonderfully "breathy" and "crying" sound to your singing voice which I just LOVE. I think that is why you are such a pleasure to listen to! Another great thing that you do when you sing is, whenever there is a space in your song, we can hear your voice ever so faintly in the background, in the midst of the music...just LOVE IT! I can go on and on, but I'll stop here. I hope you accept more invitations like this to perform so that we can see more of you. Hi Barry, It was wonderful seeing & hearing you on American Idol last night, (was gonna say tonight but it's after 12 midnight here).
My husband Lee told me to call him when you came on, I did, and he dropped his tools and came running, sat right on the end of the bed, staring at tv like I was. When the applause came after song, we both just sat there wanting more songs from you. I said ,"He's Still Got It". Lee says ,"Yeah He Does." It was so good to see you and hear you. I miss all you guys so much. I listening to your music every day and Lee does too when he's riding with me, cause thats all I play. The Love Songs cd is beautiful and uplifting. As a few years ago at Shoreline Ampitheatre in Mountain View. My wife and I were in the 3rd row center Never have seen a group or an artist as talented as you. We miss you so much on the stage. Tonight, was a real emotional experience, I had heart failure 3 weeks agoand spent a week in the hospital. I have been a special ed teacher for over 40 years and your music is so much of my career playing it for our special needs kids over the years and them so inpired by you.

I am so glad you shared your musical talent with a new generation! I remember the 70's and always wished you were my dad! Boyfriend would have been nice and then I saw and interview where you talked about your wife and then I thought a brother would be nice! When you sang on American Idol I cried! Barry, you were wonderful with the Idol contestants. AND It was thrilling to hear you sing.

Your music has touched me over the years so much because, obviously, the talent of it, but also I sense a realness to your music, an emotional realness which is rare. I can't articulate further! I just love your music! Was there since almost the beginning.

I agree with you that on AI, Jordin just rocked "You Don't Know What It's Like". I think she could be a major force in music.

Will always treasure the gift of music you have given the world.

Barry, It was a very poignant moment when you walked out on stage !! You are still the " MASTER " when it comes to making beautiful music ... I think you look and sound just as awesome as I first saw you during the 1960's . Your voice is so unique . It was nice to see your family together in the audience . They must be so proud of you . Okay...I'm sending Barry Gibb a message. This is weird. I'm 39, so I was fairly young when my older sisters were in love with the BeeGee's men and their music. I was into your music too, (that is, as much as a 9-year old tomboy could be) However, I really grew out of disco pretty quickly and, I NEVER listen to those old disco tunes. All that said, I fell asleep during Idol last night and awoke to your performance. You were HOT! In fact I was sitting here working at my computer and as I thought about it, I decided to Google you to find out more about what you are up to now. I stumbled on this blog and I couldn't resist writing something. I have to say; watching you perform gave me a completely different opinion of your talent and musical abilities. Sometimes the generation behind a particular music genre has a condescending view of that those that came before were part of a fad less deserving than the craze it created. Barry, just want to thank you for taking the stage last night and sharing with all your fans (and future fans) the gift of your voice!!! I have missed you so much not performing!! Watching you on AI brought back many memories for me of my youth. Your music is the soundtrack of my life!!! The first concert I ever went to was at MSG in 1979, i was 7 years old and my older sister surprised me and my twin sister. "spirts having flown" i believe early september 79. I remember it like it was yestarday!! I was hooked and have been a fan ever since!! You look soooo good last night and your voice was better than ever!!! It was so nice to see your Wife and daughter in the crowd!! You could see how proud they were. WE are all proud of you! thank you again, and please keep sharing yourself with your fans!!! I fell in love with the Bee Gees thirty years ago when I was six years old. I even carried a Bee Gees lunch box to school. I thought you were the coolest guys on earth. My mom bought me your albums on vinyl, then I bought them on cassette, and then on CD. I've always thought you and your brothers were some of the most talented people on Earth!! At 35 years old it was still very thrilling to see you perform again. Thank you.

Barry - have been waiting for weeks for your AI appearance. Well it was certainly worth the wait! You look great, really hot and your voice is in terrific shape. Jordin did a great job with TLS, but then the true master showed us all how it should be done. We need to see you a lot more so get busy and finish that new album so you can promote it on TV. And get that brother of yours over here to join you sometime soon...the Gibb's rule!

My girls who are 9-16 years old LOVE YOU when you where on Idol, they gave up there homework for an hour and when you sang, everyone's heart melted.
Please Barery don't ever give up what you enjoy doing, for I can not wait for a new CD this year maybe Country!!!

Watching you do what you were born to do is an amazing thing. Because you love what you do, you bring so much more than just the words to us. You surround us in the music and emotion of it. Your performance on Idol was inspiring. Anyone who hasn't taken the time to listen to the beautiful music you have written and sung, has truly missed one of the great joys of this life.

Oh my gosh! I can not even adequately express how I feel about you!!!! I have loved you forever!!! I have been the biggest Bee Gee's and Andy Gibb fan always.... I do not watch AI but have been waiting to see you on it! You were SO GOOD!! And handsome as always. I recorded the show and watched it numerous times and my husband watched it. Who knows how many times I will watch it again. I have all your albums and CD's. My gosh, I always thought nobody could love you as much as I do but after reading all these comments I know different. LOVED the whole Idol thing. The contestants are all the more better, for having your talent and expertise guiding them.

It was great to see you perform and even grsater to hear all the great music created by you and your brothers.

I especially enjoyed hearing some of the newer songs. Like Blake doing This Is Where I Came In.

This is a late post, but I needed to tell you how wonderful it was to see you performing again. So much has happened in your life over the last several years, but I hope you choose to come back to the stage and treat us with your incredible talent. I last saw you live on the Main Course tour (1975?) here in Toronto, Canada. Thirty years is waaaaay too long between appearances, Barry!
