I was thinking of you today. So I found this site and... I am hoping I am posting this comment in the correct place. I just want to say thank you. Thank you for your entire body of work. I grew up with your music, you have always been a part of my life, like family. I am glad you have this site, so I can check in on you and see that you are well. I regret that I never had the opportunity to see you perform Live, but I am very anxious to see you on Idol. I know it has been a different life since 2003, but I love you, all your fans love you, you deserve all the awards, and I hope to see more of your work in the future.

Hi,

I saw a documentary on VH1 classic tonight about the Bee Gee's. I just wanted to say Thank You for all the incredible songs and performances..you're music has had a huge impact on the world. I remember my mom listening to your records when I was little..I even know the words to the songs.
I also wanted to tell you that.. I'm very sorry for the loss of your brother Maurice. He was an amazing man and I enjoyed hearing about his life..it is obvious that there was a tremendous amount of love between all of you. Thank you.

You are a most gracious recipient of well deserved accolades, but I'm sure I speak for many when I say that it is we, your listeners, who should be thanking you.

Bands come and go. The Beatles came in on a tidal wave, and went out with the tide a relatively short time later. They were sensational, most tsunamis are, they were innovators, pioneers in an innovative era, but they were for sale, and after a while could no longer commit to being just a commodity A true travesty.

Individual artists come and go. Elvis entered like a grand tornado, and departed like the final remnant of a light breeze. He was the King, but the king was a man, and the man couldn't live like the king that he was whilst being treated like the prostitute that his circle made of him. A true tragedy

Songwriters come and go.The good ones and the bad ones. The proud authors of songs like "Disco Duck" and "Pass the Douchie" were forgotten as quickly as they were noticed, remembered only by triviaists like myself.There were the good ones, like Don McClean and Meatloaf/Steinman who put out some of the defining songs of their generations, and then forgot how to do it all again, work so good that it is still remembered, often with regret that they did not continue thier work. The one hit wonders...our curse...our blessing

Then there's the Brothers Gibb. Three precocious boys who discovered a fun talent to share with each other, and carried that gift with them everywhere they went: street corners, public toilets, racetracks, pubs, ships, and anywhere else an audience might be available for them to entertain. Three children who wrote songs about love, life, and death that read as if authored by a wizened old spirit. From boys to young men they evolved and grew in their trade, and found the key, and with it, success.

Unlike the Beatles, only the vinyl was for sale, the essence of the album was the gift. Unlike Elvis they taught themselves to live the lives of men, and let the crowning glory fall onto their work.

When a fickle and mislead public turned away from them, they didn't quit and deny them the gifts of their work, but they worked undercover and for the few years that people thought that they just went away, people were still reaping the rewards of their talents through other voices, most never bothering to notice where it was all coming from. How kind it was of them to continue to share their gift, I think that most of us would not.

They never failed to hone their craft throughout the many years. Lyrics matured from what a boy thinks life is, to what a man knows life is, and somehow the innocence is never lost in that translation. Melody and form broke boundaries, often taking on the abstract wrapped in methodical, mathematical construction. They had the wisdom and the nerve to use their own voices as instruments as has never been so perfectly achieved before. Each album is a new experience brought to you directly from the souls of these three men

Thank you Barry Gibb, for the hundreds of songs that fall around my life like big fluffy snowflakes, I am always happy to toss back my head, open my mouth, and see which one lands in my mouth for me to savor next. Thank you for the gift of putting words and magical sounds to the things that I've never found words to say. Thanks for devoting your life to your work and using your divine gifts for the comfort and betterment of humanity.

I offer you that universal kind of love that one feels for people that they don't know, but have every good reason to love. I can't sing, so that is my song for you.

I hope you will continue your work for as long as you live, and enjoy it, and never ever forget just how important your accomplishments are to the past, present and future.

Barry, as its said in the Life in a Tin Can album, your life has been a song. It always does your fans hearts good when we hear of you receiving an award for your song writing. I first heard your music 40 years ago in 1967 when I was 17 as were Robin and Maurice then. Words are not enough to tell you how fortunate I am that I got to grow up with your music in my life. You and your brothers have brought such beauty to this world with your wonderful songs and voices. Thank you so very much for being an important part of the soundtrack of my life.

Congratulations on your 2007 BMI Icon Award! It's always nice to hear good news like this. Your contributions to the music world are immense. The unique sound of the Bee Gees is often imitated but can never be replicated. I have to say that your singing voice is truly what I enjoy the most. Your voice is an instrument that only you can play. I also enjoy the music of Barbara Streisand. I wish I could reach you and share how The BEEGEE's music actually saved my life. I was in comma for 6 months. It was dark and I felt like I was drifting. Funeral arrangements were being made. I could hear mumbling like noises in a tunnel far, far, away. One day one of my realatives put her ear phones in my ears and she went to the cafeteria. She was playing a BEEGEE CD. I could ACTUALLY HEAR your music as if you were in the room! One of the nurses removed the ear plugs and my heart went hay wire. They were bringing in the crash cart as my relative was coming back. For some unknown reason she put your music back into my ears and my heart went back to a normal steady rhythm. Everytime a nurse one remove The BEEGEEs from my ears my heart would again go haywire. They learned to leave the music alone. About 3 days later I woke to "I've just got to get a message to you" I think I was trying to get a message across. I was still there. I hadn't left. I strongly believe that G-d used your music to bring me back. The doctors have no explanations. I was near dead. So when someone says The BeeGees music touched their heart, they are not kidding!

First, congratulations on much deserved recognition at the BMI awards event, and seeing you on American Idol was such a treat. As I listened (and watched), I got to thinking about "To Love Somebody" being from the 1st album and the memories you must have each time you perform that particular song. Ah, as I digress----
I don't know if you'll remember me or not, but many years ago I used to send you a rather large package of cookies to Criteria, then to Middle Ear from the bakery that I managed. In 1987, at a black tie fundraiser for cancer in Vero Beach, we met and chatted a bit. It was a wonderful treat meeting you and being able to find out that you're just as down to earth and gracious as I'd always imagined you to be. Congratulations again and welcome home.

We know Mo is gone but is always here with us, but that there should be reason enough to keep going. I do not know about the rest of all the folks but I can never get enough of the Bee Gees...

I know Barry is working on the country recording; I wonder when that will be finished.

As a teenager in the punk era I never thought I would find myself compelled to write to Barry Gibb, who I thought represented the antithesis of that rebellious period. However now that Christmas trees are small and I mine back through the years I find that the Beegees have just always produced great songs, my current favourite being In the Morning. Just had to get that off my conscience. All the best to you.

I recently watched the A&E Biography done on The BeeGees. Absolutely loved it. It made me think of my Mama in so many ways. She loved your music. She passed away recently. I was listening to my usual BeeGees music the other day and I had a real mix on, with Celine, with Barbra.....
The thought crossed my mind how wonderful it would be if you did a duets album with female singers. Your voice is perfect with Barbra and with Celine and it would be terrific to hear an album of you and some of the great female singers that are out there: Faith Hill, Kelly Lang, Jordin Sparks, Carrie Underwood, Celine, Barbra, so many others. But as duets, not just harmony for them!

Glad you had a safe trip home.
Gotta tell you...................WOW! You blew me away with American Idol. Thank you for your participation, but more so, for your performance. Just to hear you sing once again filled a hole in my soul. You were perfect in my eyes. The "Bee Gees" have always been intertwined, three becoming on. I knew that it would be a bittersweet experience to see "one" of you. It was................my heart still weeps that Mo is gone. Most of my lifetime has included you guys, and now, my life is 1/3 light.
Anyway, let's bypass the drama. You are as wonderful as you have always been. You look hot, your voice still makes me weak, and you will always be number one.

Barry, I know it won't be the same without Maurice on the stage with you guys, but will you and Robin ever tour? Myself and many others I know would come to the concerts. My dear Barry & family, It was great to see videos of you receiving the BMI awards. What do you do with all these awards??? You must have a bazilllion of them!!!!???? You and your brothers had the most beautiful voices (harmony) when you sang together. I sincerely hope that you will get together with Robin and sing again for us again some day. I have never been to one of your concerts, but I will wait for the moment when I can see you, or you and Robin, sing on stage. It will be a most wonderful day....

I have been a fan since the 60's -- I was one of the 200 people and 24 of my friends at the 75 concert in Houston, Texas, I have been to the 79 concert 3 times, the 89 concert 3 times, High Civilization and the MGM Grand, 97 and in 99, You have only gotten better. its always great to get back home safe. Congrats on the award.
I'm 41 now and I wanted to tell you about deja vu and how time flies but to make a long story short: I had my nieces and nephews over for the weekend (9, 10, 11, and 12 years old) and they where roaming about the house and bugging me about an box that they found under my bed and the secrets it contained. I told them that it contained trinkets and treasures of my youth and since they kept asking what we could do on a saturday night - I opened the box and guess what .. we had a Discodancing Saturday Night Fever and Bee Gees Bash in my backyard up into the wee hours and they loved every minute of it and some of the folks in my neighborhood followed the sounds and joined us and it was amazing .... Well what I'm trying to say is that time flies all good things come back to you and most of all this shows that the music and songs you and your brothers gave to us are not bound by generation but are indeed timeless . I am probably the BIGGEST fan of Bee Gees for more than 30 years, even though I've never had the luxury of attending any of your concerts - something I regret for the rest of my life, especially after Maurice's passing. I was very young, growing up in a remote province in the Philippines, when I started hearing your songs on the radio and enjoying every one of them. I came to America more than 20 years ago and I think about my childhood memories in the Philippines through your songs. THANK YOU so very much! It's just hard to believe all the wonderful songs the Bee Gees has written, sang and produced.

That person (MCRN) who posted the comments dated May 31 says it all. To me, Bee Gees is just the BEST (better than the Beatles). I even emailed one of our radio stations here in North TX that plays old songs to play more of the Bee Gees songs. The songs "Words" and "First Of May" remain to be my favorite Barry solo.

I am very happy for your great, well-deserved accomplishments. I hope you will continue to write songs. I am also very happy for your family. You have a beautiful wife and kids. Every time my husband and I watch the One Night Only concert on DVD (which is very often), I always tell my husband how very proud Stephen must have been - strumming his guitar at his Dad and Uncles' concert. I enjoyed watching the Bee Gees' Biography (can't get enough of it really). It was amazing to see how you all transformed. Hope to hear your updates again soon.

I wish you would have a TV show like the ones Perry Como and Dean Martin and Andy Williams had. Of course, the more Bee Gees, the better, but, NO BODY can compare to you alone. I just wanted to say thank you for the music you and your brothers have produced. As an adolescent growing up in North Carolina there were not many times that my parents and I agreed on anything, much less music. One evening you guys were on Midnight Special with your music from Main Course. That was the first time my dad and I sat down and totally enjoyed the music. My dad began asking me who you guys were and we began talking about your songs. I'm not sure you have any idea what that moment meant to me and it is one, now at 48 years of age, that never have and never will forget. Thank you so much!
